  How to Get to Alert Bay

By Car
Drive north on Highway 19 from Victoria or Nanaimo passing Parksville, Courtenay, Campbell River and Sayward to Port McNeill - a scenic drive on a modern highway that takes about 3.5 hours from Nanaimo to Port McNeill.

The 40-K Taxi Service in Alert Bay has a van and can meet you at the airport or the ferry.
Call 250-974-5525 for fees.

Car & Passenger Ferry
From Port McNeill there is a Tri-Island Ferry running to Alert Bay and Sointula continuously from 8:40AM to 9:50PM seven days a week.  The terminal in Port McNeill can be reached   by telephone at 250-956-4533.  For a B.C. Ferries schedule go to the B.C. Ferries website and their toll-free number is 1-888-BC FERRY (223-3779).

By Bus
Scheduled bus services depart daily from all points on Vancouver Island to Port McNeill where a connection can be made to the ferry to Alert Bay.  For additional call the bus depot in Port McNeill at 250-956-3556 or Greyhound Canada 1-800-661-8747.

By Air
Scheduled air flights depart daily from Vancouver to Port Hardy and a limousine service is available to Port McNeill where a connection can be made to the ferry to Alert Bay.
